Krauthammer Lab co-designs OncoSupport+ for supportive cancer care

Researchers from the Krauthammer Lab at DQBM have co-developed OncoSupport+, a patient-centered app for improving supportive cancer care through digital screening, personalized information, and enhanced communication. The study, published in JMIR Human Factors, involved patients with cancer, survivors, nurses, and supportive care specialists in a participatory process across three phases: predesign, generative, and prototyping.

OncoSupport+ integrates standardized electronic patient-reported outcome measures and provides dashboards for patients and nurses to support consultations. Its development was guided by the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology to address adoption barriers and ensure usability. The app aims to streamline clinical workflows while empowering patients with tailored information and support resources.
