Imaging Reveals Tumor Complexity in Detail

A new study highlighted in the UZH News underscores the translational impact of imaging mass cytometry developed by the Bodenmiller Lab at DQBM. By visualizing over 120 proteins in tumor biopsies, this technology enables precise mapping of cancer and immune cells at single-cell resolution.

Applied at the Tumor Profiler Center, the method helps tailor treatment strategies for skin cancer patients, especially those unresponsive to standard therapies. Initial clinical use has already extended survival in advanced melanoma cases, demonstrating the technique’s potential in precision oncology.

The work reflects DQBM’s commitment to applying quantitative methods for real-world clinical benefit. For further details, see the full UZH article here.
