Profound dysregulation of T cell homeostasis and function in patients with severe COVID-19

This prospective multicenter cohort study revealed profound perturbations of peripheral T cell homeostasis and function in severe COVID‐19 compared to mild disease, through cross‐sectional analysis of phenotypic and functional characteristics of T cells in patients with mild and severe COVID‐19, using 40‐parameter mass cytometry, flow cytometry, targeted proteomics, and functional assays.

This work results from a collaboration between the groups of Bernd Bodenmiller and Jakob Nilsson and Onur Boyman at the Department of Immunology, University Hospital Zurich (USZ).
